Bollywood Movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’ vs Kollywood Movie ‘Nandalala’

If Darsheel in ’Taare Zameen Par’ hogged all the limelight doing the role of dyslexic child, here is our answer to him in Tamil. Aswath Ram, the ’little hero’ of Mysskin’s ’Nandalala’ has proved that he is no way less to Darsheel in performance.Heaping praises on Aswath at the audio release of the movie in Chennai recently, Mysskin said, “He completed each shot in one take but I had to work only according to his moods.

He is really brilliant and is a child prodigy. He is a great artistes and a future Kamal Haasan.”On the film, Mysskin said, ’it’s close to reality. Ilayaraja’s music is no doubt one of the highlights of Nandalala. It is one of the few scripts which has no loads of heroism and I thank Ayngaran Internationals for producing such a quality subject’.

Myskin in Nandalala Story

Myskin's 'Nandalala' is at last reaching its final stage.

Ayangaran and G.V.Films are jointly producing 'Nandalala'.  Director Myskin is introduced as an actor in the film.

'Nandalala' is the story of two people searching for their mother.  This will be a very different film from other two Myskin's films and that has raised the expectations.

The shooting of the last stage of the film took place yesterday at Gopichettypalayam.  Myskin, Snigdha and others took part in the shooting.

After this, Myskin would direct a film with Surya.  Answering a question if that was made after a Japanese film 'Jikijero', Mishkin asked us to see the film and decide.

Ilayaraja has composed the music for the film.

“No idea about working with Rajini and Kamal” - Myskin

Not many directors do openly convey such a stunning message. But a person like Myskin may not work magic over you. He has the real stuff of churning out the best movies and he can openly express his ideas. Any guesses about what would everyone ask in general when they question a director? "Will you director Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan?" This same question was put forth on Myskin and he had a precise answer to utter. "At present, I am having enough scripts to work for next 7 years and none of the characterizations in it have roles for either Rajnikanth or Kamal Haasan.

May be after these years, if my script and characterizations designed by me suits any of these actors, I many think about roping them in" said Myskin. Also added that working with Ilayaraja for his film 'Nandalala' was a real big experience for he is so dedicated for his music and his passion for it is still insatiable for achieving success in this film over these years…

Nandalala in Myskin

After tasting sweet success with his first two films 'Chithiram Pesudhadi' and 'Anjathey', director Myskin is on a high and is currently acting and directing the film 'Nandalala'. The film is about two characters, a seven year old boy and a thirty year old 'child-like' man embarking on a journey in search of their respective mothers.

They meet a number of people on the way and end up being influenced by them. One such influence comes from a group of Narikuravargal (also known as Kurivikarargal). In what can be termed as the very first attempt, Myskin has roped in an old Nari Kurava woman to sing a song that hitherto has been exclusive to their community.

The association with 'Nandalala' and Nari Kuravas does not end here. Many of these gypsies have also been made to act in the film. The song features probably to bring about authenticity to the portions that they are involved with.

According to reports, Saroja, the name of the Nari Kurava woman hesitated initially when she was brought to the recording studio. After a while she asked if she could get some liquor. After she did have her request fulfilled, the woman sang the song 'Hallile' which stunned everyone present there.

Director Myskin is of the opinion that 'Hallile' could very well be the next 'Vaale Meenu'. The director is also happy that he has been successful in bringing a folk song that has been trapped due to social constraints to cinema. Cinema however will take care of publicizing this song.

Incidentally the song 'Hallile' is all about praising God in his entire splendor. '

Nandalala' introduces 'Kathala Kannala' fame Snigdha as the heroine.

Myskin's super hero

While Hollywood has its super heroes like Batman, Spiderman and Superman, strangely Tamil films have no such super heroes. The cost of even stitching a super hero costume is prohibitive.

Since corporate investors are prepared to invest heavily, our young directors have started thinking in terms of a super hero.  Vishal has long wanted to do a super hero role in a film that he wishes to direct himself.

After completing 'nandalala' Myskin plans to direct Surya as a super hero in a film to be produced at a mega budget by UTV. To be titled 'Mugamudi,' the story is one of a super hero.

With his 6 pack abs, Surya already looks like a super hero. The super hero subject would help save costume expenses.
